What another hectic week, and fighting it all with a head cold and migraine but now that i have the spine and front riser welded it was time to fit and mount them, in the photos that follow you will see some of what we did to put it all together, for all the photos go to the gallery. here you see Phil marking out the mounting points using a template i had made. score the alloy gives us a guide after the marking comes the drilling remember it's important to have your finger as close to the drill bit as possible when drilling un-clamped job hehe. we then centered the channel on the pan ready to drill. unfortunately because of the size of the job we couldn't fit it in the drill press and had to hand drill it. Phil finds what he believes is true center, that look is not filling me with confidence. regardless if it was or wasn't center he drills it, close enough hehe proud that it all looked like it was centered and nothing had fallen off yet, he sculled the other half of the beer he was drinking in celebration. just a test fit of everything to check clearances before counter sinking bolts and fitting, it's always important to have a good supply of beer while doing this part of the job. the flip side and all looks ok, now to find the bugs and work them out, next comes the hand rail and any strengthening that may be needed. Don't forget to check out the gallery for all the photos that were taken and please click the like button below, thanks for popping in.
