I recently did a Q & A on Reddit.com and had a blast doing it. below are some of the questions and answers for those of you who missed it. not all the questions are nice, but then again i don't always give the best replies. this is just peoples minds laid to bare on a website.....scary huh!?! What an interesting couple of days. you do a couple interviews and the next thing you're doing is battling the Pope for best clip of the week.
If you're not sure what i'm on about, thanks to the hard work of Tom from World Reach PR i recently did an interview with Reuters news agency. after doing that, two days later i get this email. "Hey Daz – just for your info you were just outside the top 10 news videos in the world yesterday with 93 different networks using you globally. If it wasn't for the Ukraine and the Pope you’d have been in the top 5!" So needless to say it provided me with much laughings and many funnies. so i had a look around on the web and here are some links i found. Metro (UK) Motherboard (US) Der Spiegel (Germany) BBC (UK) Sky News (UK) Stern (Germany) NDTV (China) El Mundo (Spain) Yahoo News (UK) Sueddeutsche (Germany) Publico (Spain) Well as all good things need some kind of funds to move forwards and so does this. Soooo i have launched a campaign with a limited number of shirts and hoodies in varying shapes and styles. i think you'll love them, they were rated very highly by my mum. i have plenty to choose from for the guys and gals. 50% of the total made will go the the Westmead Childrens Hospital and the rest goes on my jet luge and getting it to the next stage of manufacture. So head on over to the Shop and pick yourself up a t-shirt before they are all gone or we run out of time. The best part about this campaign is if the goal is not reached you will not be charged anything. so help me out to help the kids and get some cool gear while doing it. please share and spread the word because it all ends on the June 19th 2014. We have completed he first wind tunnel tests with the new Mk2 and they were a huge success. we were very surprised with the results and with the new data obtained we have learnt that very little is needed to change. we will be making some small changes to the board to help with downforce. but other than that, basically nearly all buffeting was very minimal. will look to CFD it in the near future so we can run it through some different scenarios. but we hope to have it back in the wind tunnel again to test the changes we have made. i cannot thank the guys enough for doing this. the information provided is something we would never have been able to get otherwise.
But jetluge production does slow down after shoulder surgery. Yup! i have FINALLY had my left shoulder reconstructed, something i have actually needed for a while. this has slowed down my ability to build the jetluge, but it has not stopped me from doing small bits were i can. With the great help of Andrew at Custom Carbon Components i have managed to get the board to a point of final mock up and i am ready to begin finalizing the top half of the board and start building the bottom aerodynamics. While i have the engines out i will take this time to tighten up a few things on them with the help of Brett over at Ausjets and have them running amazingly when the board is ready to have them put back in. In the mean time while i heal up, i am currently over in the United States in San Francisco meeting with a few people regarding the jetluge till the end of August. i hope you enjoy the latest photos of the jetluge. make sure you head over to the Gallery to see the entire photo sets of the build as it progresses. |
